UCS installation

danger

Please pay close attention to the environment in which the UCS telephony system will be operated. Telephony is a real-time system, extremely sensitive to smooth and consistent allocation of computing power (CPU).

When deploying UCS, consider the overall load on the host server. An overloaded host = risk of outages and degraded call quality.

Network load is high: 1 call = approx. 200 packets per second, 100 calls = up to 20,000 packets per second → each packet has only 50 µs to be processed. Additional packets are generated by operator applications – up to 2,000 per second extra.

Antivirus and profiling tools are not allowed – they disrupt precise timing and system stability.

🧠 In summary: A one-second delay when loading a CRM form is barely noticed by users. A one-second voice dropout or delayed call pickup, however, is perceived as a system failure.

warning

The OS timezone must be set before installation so that it is set correctly when you install PostgreSQL afterwards! If UCS is to send e-mails, then also install an SMTP server (e.g. Postfix).
